I’m Lisa Murphy, a music producer, recording engineer and mix engineer based in Newcastle upon Tyne, working with artists, songwriters and musicians across the North East and beyond.
I work with independent artists at different stages of their musical journey, from developing an early songwriting idea through to recording, production, mixing and preparing a finished release. My approach is collaborative and artist-focused, helping you develop your sound while keeping your identity and creative vision at the centre of the process.
My recording and production work takes place at Production Room in Heaton, Newcastle, and Blank Studios. I work across a range of genres including alternative rock, folk, electronic and pop, as well as projects that don't fit neatly into one genre.

I provide professional recording for singers, songwriters, bands and independent artists, including vocal recording, live instruments, overdubs and full song production.
I aim to create a relaxed studio environment where artists can concentrate on making music rather than worrying about whether they know the right technical terminology or studio process.
Mixing & Music Production
I also provide mixing and production services for artists who want their music to translate confidently across headphones, speakers, streaming platforms and different listening environments.
My approach to mixing combines the technical side of engineering with the musical side of production, considering balance, clarity, dynamics, stereo image, low-end control and the emotional impact of the track.

Alongside my production and engineering work, I have extensive experience supporting emerging artists and helping people develop their confidence with music technology and production.
I particularly value creating inclusive, supportive studio and learning environments. You don't need to arrive knowing everything about music production. My role is to help you understand the process, make informed creative decisions and develop your own skills and sound.
